Your
review meeting
A review
is a meeting where everyone talks about how you are getting on.
A review is done to see if anything in your care
plan needs to be changed.
Your needs
will always be put first when making decisions about you.
Children's
Service must listen to you and consider your wishes and feelings.
Your review
will be held within the first 4 weeks of you being looked after.
The next one will be within 3 months of your first review. Then
you will have a review at least every 5 - 6 months while you are
being looked after.
You can
give your views by:
- Talking or writing
to the Independent Reviewing Officer before the review
- Using the Viewpoint
computer program
- Using drawings, photos,
or video to tell us about you
The Children Act says
that everyone involved in looking after you should be asked their
opinion. A social worker will write a report and show you their
report before a review.
Who goes to my review
?
- You, and you can
bring a supporter, or ask an advocate to go for you
- Your parents or guardians
- Your social worker
- The people looking
after you
- An independent reviewing
officer (who chairs the review)
- Sometimes other people
are invited, for example your teacher.
What happens at the
review?
During your review everyone has their say, and your care plan will
be updated. Reviews are held at a time and place to make it easy
for you to come. Sometimes there may be more than one meeting.
What happens afterwards?
After the review, the reviewing officer will send you a copy of
the decisions and recommendations made.
