Where to get help and advice

Do you need an Advocate…?!

Hi everyone

My name is Hannah and I work for NYAS (The National Youth Advocacy Service) in Surrey. I just thought that I would write and introduce myself because I have just started working in Surrey.

NYAS can help children and young people. Our service is independent and confidential. Independent means that we do not work for Surrey Social Services or Surrey Council. Confidential means that the people at NYAS will keep what you say private, unless you, or someone else is in danger.

Advocacy is about making sure that you are listened to by adults and involved in decisions about you. It's about helping you to speak up and tell people how you are feeling.

  • Do you want something Stopped, Started or Changed?
  • Are decisions being made about you that you don't like?
  • Do you want somebody to help speak for you in important meetings?
  • Do you want help with making a complaint?

If the answer is "yes" to any of the above, NYAS can help you, so you won't be alone!

Call the freephone on: 0800 616 101 or send an email: help@nyas.net
